Dear Adults,

If you’re reading this, it’s likely that you or a child you love is feeling, acting, or speaking in ways that concern you. You want help but aren’t sure how to get it. You’ve taken a big step in looking for a counselor, and I’m honored that you’re considering me. I started my journey as a counselor out of a desire to improve my own life and that of my family. I initially focused on working with children, but time has shown me over and over again that helping children also involves helping adults. I’ve embraced that truth, and I enjoy working with people across the entire life span.

I have a master’s degree in counseling from Lipscomb University, and I’m a practitioner in several ways of helping children, adults, and families. I love learning and don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all mentality (in counseling or clothes!), so I’m constantly learning new ways to be helpful to others. Assisting people in managing their emotions, thoughts, and sensations in their bodies in new and positive ways is a big part of the work I do.

Dear Young Person,

Here are some things you might want to know about me… My favorite color is green, I don’t have any pets, I’m not so good at sports and I like kids A LOT! Oh, and kids like me too. Daniel Tiger and Bluey are shows I really like watching, and I like to play even when I do serious work! One of the best things a young person has ever said to me is, “Trina, I like coming here to be with you because this is the only place where my heart can breathe.” I’m looking forward to meeting you and hanging out with you.
